Worm on a string has been around for decades and trending since 2016. According to Google, they reached an all-time high in 2020 and have now finally come to New Zealand’s shores and into the latest Playwise box!

Why Playwise loves them 

• They are wonderfully sensory! Worm on a string is so soft and designed to thread through your fingers, providing pleasurable, rewarding sensory input for the brain.
• They are interesting! Manipulating the worms movements on a sting has become somewhat of a magic trick and encourages dexterity (check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QqkAXke4YDc)
• While the magic tricks may not be for everyone, our community of YR 1-YR 6 kids have loved playing with them worms in other ways. They hold them at every opportunity. They name them and even build them houses and treat them like a pet. The house building alone has meant many hours of fun with this particular toy!
